2018 Volkswagen Tiguan vs 2018 Toyota RAV4
The compact crossover SUV segment of the automotive industry is one of the most contested in several years. Each model produced by a manufacturer has something to offer, making the improvements to the latest version of the Volkswagen Tiguan all the more impressive. To illustrate the stiff competition in this class, Steve Hahn Volkswagen has directly compared the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan vs. 2018 Toyota RAV4. In deference to the RAV4, it remains a strong option in a portion of the industry with many great vehicles. However, the long list of improvements made to the 2018 Tiguan should allow it to match, if not overtake, the current Toyota RAV4.
There is no hiding the fact that the Toyota RAV4 has all but ruled the compact crossover SUV class for years. Volkswagen is keenly aware of this fact and has done everything in its power to improve the 2018 Tiguan to have what it needs to rise to the top of the segment. The VW engineering and design teams working on the new Tiguan increased the overall length of its wheelbase by more than 10 inches, resulting in a 58 percent increase in cargo space. This has resulted in the 2018 Tiguan to offer more cargo volume than the RAV4, which was touted for its versatility in the automotive press. Some 2018 Tiguan models will even have space for a third-row of seats.
